Ayurveda is rooted in India's most cherished scriptures known as the Vedas, which date to about B.C. 2500. Of the four Vedas, two of them - the Rig Veda and Atharva Veda - give detailed information about longevity, healing and surgery, if required.
Ayurveda is not only an ancient Indian science of prevntative health and healing but also a philosophy of balanced living. Rarely treating the symptoms, Ayurveda cures by removing the cause of disease. Physical diseases are due to engaging in excessive use of our senses, improper eating habits, or ignoring the cycle of the seasons or one's age. Ayurveda removes the cause of disease by righting these transgressions and restablishing balance to one's system. To treat one's entire cosmic nature, one must address all the components of a human being. According to Ayurveda, human beings are comprised of three bodies: physical (body), astral (mind) and causal (soul).
Soul and body are one and indivisible in a living human being. So, individual harmony and equilibrium should go together with harmony and equilibrium of the community, of nature, of universe. The concept itself of equilibrium, in Ayurveda philosophy, means not only the perfect functioning of different systems and organs, of mind and soul, but also a happy relationship with all creatures, with family members, with friends, with the environment and culture, with ideals and various habits.
It may seem as an objective difficult to achieve, but it's not so. Even a single step on the right way can cause a great transformation, a perception of true wellbeing. Therefore, it will be easier to make the next step, that could be an example for others who want to share this way.
Often, even if we feel bad and we realize we must change something in our lives, we feel a strong resistance to do it. It's the fear of change. Ayurveda helps to decide to take the whole responsibility of the first step and shows ho to make it. The rest will come naturally, slowly and gently, at the right moment, respecting nature and harmony.

Every living being is moving along life's mysterious pathway searching for a meaningful and lasting happiness. The longing for this infinite freedom has led to the exploration pf the planet Earth - and onwards to the stars. Now, the time has come for Humanity to embark on the Greatest Adventure of all - Meditation.
Meditation is a fundamental practice in yogic path, having the aim to put oneself in contact with his/her divine nature, to make one realize he/she is a unique living body with Infinite Love pervading all the Universe. Through the regular practice of meditation, one can experience a sense of inner peace and general wellbeing that improves human life. It's also important to understand that, at first, meditation practice leads to remove inner blocks due to fears, pent up anger, and psychological problems that are obstacles towards enlightment. So, it may happen that, in the first months of meditation practice, one's mood and emotional states have swings, different situations may arise, such as backache, pain in the legs, restless mind, weakness, drowsiness, headache, etc. The heart can be ready, but the body and mind aren't. This is due to this process of mind purification induced by meditation, and this is normal. Unfortunately, many people believe that meditation is just for relax, so, as soon as they perceive an emotional disease, they tend to stop meditating.
Yoga postures (asanas) can help to overcome these obstacles. With the regular practice of asanas - stretching, strengthening, balance, breathing exercises and concentration on specific points in the body - these problems can be overcome and one can sit to meditate while feeling relaxed, wakeful, calm and concentrated.
"To meditate does not mean to fight with a problem. To meditate means to observe." -- Thich Nhat Hanh
A man asked Lord Buddha "I want happiness". Lord Buddha said "First remove 'I', that's ego. Then remove 'want', that's desire. See now you are left with 'happiness'".
"When you think everything is someone else's fault, you will suffer a lot. When you realize that everything springs only from yourself, you will learn both peace and joy". -- Dalai Lama
Yoga, in its true sense, is the unification of the Atman, the unit consciousness, with Paramatman, the supreme consciousness; and the practices developed over millenia to achieve that unification are correctly called Yoga Sadhana. Yoga Sadhana may be called Yoga for short, but it is unfortunate when a few of its practices alone, omitting the higher and more subtle practices, are presented, sometimes for financial gain, as the whole of Yoga. "Performance of a few Asanas will not make one a Yogi."
Yoga Sadhana is for all, and is free from all kinds of discrimination. Yoga Sadhana is the strongest foundation, the greatest support and the supreme shelter of everyone's life. Yoga Sadhana is in inextricably linked to the three spheres of human existence - the physical, the psychic and the spiritual. Therefore, Yoga Sadhana is not only physical or physical-psychic; it is also psycho-physical, psychic, psycho-spiritual and purely spiritual.
"Yoga is not an ancient myth buried in oblivion. It is the most valuable inheritance of the present. It is the essential need of today and the culture of tomorrow." -- Swami Satyananda Saraswati
"We fear death because of pain, and because of the thought that we may become obliterated. This idea is erroneous. Jesus showed himself in a physical form to his disciples after his death. Lahiri Mahasaya returned in the flesh the next day after he had entered mahasamadhi. They proved that they were not destroyed." -- Paramahansa Yogananda
"Put your heart, mind and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret of success." -- Sivananda
"The Supreme Consciousness is inside you like butter in milk; churn your mind through meditation and He will appear - you will see that the resplendence of the Supreme Consciousness illumines your whole inner being. He is like a subterranean river in you. Remove the sands of mind and you will find the clear, cool waters within." -- Shrii Shrii Anandamurti
